La Savina, Formentera

La Sabina, the port of Formentera, is an area of great historical importance to the Mediterranean and it still possesses the very unique character of a local fishing port as well as being an attractive marina.
Nestling around the marina there are traditional cafés, bars, restaurants, and market stalls selling locally hand crafted artefacts as well as other services such as boat, bicycle and car rental offices, local taxis and small shops.
Our new office is situated on the harbour-front overlooking the marina and ferry quays.
The properties in La Sabina are ideally located for boat crews who visit the marina and want a comfortable holiday home from which to enjoy the island as well as landlubbers who are looking for a base which offers good access to the rest of the island and Illetes beach in particular.
The beaches of Illetes and Llevant are easily reached from La Sabina along the disused railway line which was used to bring the salt from the Salinas to the harbour for export. This is now a cycle and foot path which takes you along the coast to the beach which then extends to the tip of the peninsula reaching towards the island of Espalmador.

These ideally located first and second floor apartments have fantastic views across the marina of La Savina towards Illetes beach and Ibiza in the distance.
The furniture is basic with no luxury, style or frills but the apartments are kept in good condition and are clean and comfortable. Their best features are the views and the terraces and the fact that you can get to Illetes and Llevant easily by bicycle or walking.

The properties consist of 4 one bedroom apartments and 2 studio apartments.

Each apartment has a private balcony, kitchen/ living room and bathroom. There are ceiling fans, but no air conditioning. Sliding windows to spacious terraces.

The one bedroom apartments have a seperate bedroom with two sofa beds in the living area. Some apartments have twin beds, others have double beds - please request availability.

Studio apartments are small and have two beds in the living area, but they have large terraces.

Summary

  • The apartments are in a front-line location on the marina from where it is possible to enjoy all the boat activity in the harbour.
  • There are shops, a newsagent, 2 supermarkets, bars, restaurants and cafes in the marina.
  • The bus leaves from the port and there is a taxi rank. Car and bike hire offices are close by.
  • It is very easy to get to Illetes beach by bicycle or by walking along the old salt company railway line which is now a footpath/cycle track.
  • There is a windsurfing school on the lake behind the apartments which also organizes canoe expeditions.
  • Boats of all types can be rented in the marina from small motor boats to large sailing yachts with a crew.
  • A small ferry leaves the marina to go to Espalmador several times a day, stopping off at Illetes beach on each journey.
  • The Astbury Formentera office is immediately below the apartments.

The Marina - Luxury Studios

Some Marina studio cabins have impressive views of the harbour area from their terraces.  Others enjoy views across the Salinas.

All are air conditioned with a security safe as optional.

Accommodation

Studio:  Living room/ kitchenette with twin beds and a sofa bed.
Sleeps 2 adults + 1 child.

Cleaning is on a daily basis.

A group of small rural houses overlooking the Salinas (salt pans) offering a family atmosphere. BBQ, terraces and garden areas.
